A completely unique serving board created from Carob Wood with clear epoxy resin over a thin, blue base layer. I found this unusual, branched board while digging through some Carob slices taken from a wind damaged tree in Phoenix. Carob has distinctive reddish/pink heartwood and light, almost white contrasting sapwood. With the blue accent in the epoxy base, it has a certain patriotic look!
This board has some distinctive insect damage. I guess Carob is a pretty tasty wood for some wood borers. Not to worry, any critters are long gone through the kiln drying process.
