Crepe Myrtle Bud Vase #3

This vase is 11 1/2" tall and has a 1"" glass tube insert to hold water and your favorite greenery. Perfect for a couple of roses or a few wildflowers or even dried flowers. Also great for rooting cuttings of Pothos or other plants. It is finished with a hard wax/oil finish that will look good for a long time.

Putting an odd-shaped tree branch on the lathe and using sharp chisels to turn these one-of-a-kind vases sure is satisfying. No two vases will ever be the same. 

Crepe Myrtle is a fun wood to work with. Typically, it grows as a large decorative shrub or small tree. It flowers beautifully in the spring and is commonly used in Phoenix and Houston. This tree was alongside our house in an area we needed for parking and so it had to come down. We still have 5 beautiful crepe myrtles just on the other side of our back fence and can enjoy the gorgeous pink flower display, just like the ones in the picture.
